‘Cost per print’ is a term we like to use for how much it actually costs you, the consumer, to print a single page.
If you are in charge of managing office supplies or printing budget, it is critical for you to know how much it costs to print one page of text or one page of graphics on your office printer. Don’t worry it’s easier than you think!
Oftentimes, the price of printers or cartridges can be misleading. Don’t be fooled! Typically, cheaper machines will cost you much more in the long run than their more expensive alternatives. Not only do they need replenishment sooner, but they don’t last as long operationally.
But how do you determine cost per print?
- Ask a managed print provider (TBS) to conduct an assessment of your paper and toner usage, plus maintenance of your equipment. We can also teach you how to do your own assessment.
- Gather your own data. Use the formula – Cartridge Price / Page Yield + Paper Cost = Cost Per Copy (Page yield is the amount of pages your printer can print before requiring a replacement cartridge. This figure can be found on the cartridge packaging.)
At Town Business, we strive to ensure your cost to print per page is as low as possible, guaranteed. Get in touch for more advice on lowering your printing costs today.
